Fred's Top Picks

My top picks are the pubs that are "must visit" should you be in Copenhagen. They are a cut above the rest.

Fred lives in Los Angeles but tries to visit Copenhagen every year.. You can follow him on twitter as @FredWaltman or read his twitter feed below

Note that we regularly update what constitutes a top pick so places can be relegated from the list if their beer range dips or there are other significant changes.

Small cozy basement bar not far from the main train station. About 2/3 of the beers are Danish, the rest are mostly quality beers from Germany and Belgium.

Ølbaren A Fred top pick  WiFi available

Small, cozy pub with an excellent selection of beer.

Tap House A Fred top pick  WiFi available

Copenhagen's first "mega-tap" Fantastic selection of beer, both Danish and international. Happy hour specials and now serving some sandwiches.

Honorable Mention

This are pubs that you should make an effort to visit if you have the time.

BRUS  Fred Honorable Mention Full menu WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2016 Brewpub.

Newly opened brewery and tap room for To Øl. Restaurant open daily from 5pm.

Twice the taps as the original Mikkeller Bar and maybe three times the space. Mikkeller beers and plenty of guests. The bottle shop is now a separate pub, Koelschip.

The "Beer Carpenter" was a brewpub but the brewery is now in another location and has become a sort of Co-op with many brewing companies using it. Lots of interesting beers. On Monday large beers are the price of a small.

Narrow bar with a great beer selection. Across from Orsted Park

Rbabarrab  Fred Honorable Mention Full menu WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2017 Opens at 11am or earlier.

Coffee shop with 15 taps of good beer. Food is pizza and sandwiches. Affiliated with the Kihoskh store next door which has an amazing bottle shop.

Friendly lakefront basement bar, sister pub to Østed Ølbar
