My top picks are the pubs that are "must visit" should you be in Copenhagen. They are a cut above the rest.

Small cozy basement bar not far from the main train station. About 2/3 of the beers are Danish, the rest are mostly quality beers from Germany and Belgium.

Small, cozy pub with an excellent selection of beer.


Skaal A Fred top pick  Full menu WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2017

New pub with a lot of taps and some good people behind it. Beer are a mix of Danish and quality international beers.


Tap House A Fred top pick  WiFi available

Copenhagen's first "mega-tap" Fantastic selection of beer, both Danish and international. Happy hour specials and now serving some sandwiches.

1420 Bar  Fred Honorable Mention Live Music WiFi available Closed Monday New entry in the Guide in 2018 Specializes in Belgian Beers

New bar (May 2018) specializing in sour and Belgian beers. Cask beers are lambics. Weekly events including open mike comedy (Danish and English) and live music.


Friendly corner bar with decent selection of beers. Good mix of Danish and international beers. Bottle list includes a surprising number of lambics.


BRUS  Fred Honorable Mention Full menu WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2016 Brewpub.

Newly opened brewery and tap room for To Øl. Restaurant open daily from 5pm.


As you would guess from the name, lots of Whisky, Whiskey and Beer.

Interesting beers from around the world. Pizzas available from a nearby pizzeria


Twice the taps as the original Mikkeller Bar and maybe three times the space. Mikkeller beers and plenty of guests. The bottle shop is now a separate pub, Koelschip.


Nørrebro Bryghus  Fred Honorable Mention Full menu WiFi available Closed Sunday Closed Monday Brewpub.

Modern brewery/brewpub in old factory building with lots of exposed brick and steel beams. The new BRAW bar in the basement has beers from their experimental brand (BRAW) and some guests and is definitely worth a visit.


The "Beer Carpenter" was a brewpub but the brewery is now in another location and has become a sort of Co-op with many brewing companies using it. Lots of interesting beers. On Monday large beers are the price of a small.

Coffee shop with 15 taps of good beer. Food is pizza and sandwiches. Affiliated with the Kihoskh store next door which has an amazing bottle shop.
